Discovering the villages of the Luberon

Lourmarin

Come visit its market which takes place every Friday morning throughout the year, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. With a total of up to 150 exhibitors this morning, you will be able to find local craft products. During the months of June but especially July and August, the market welcomes many visitors. Consider going there early if you want to benefit from more freshness and tranquility.

The Lourmarin castle is another must-see place in this village. Built in the 15th and 16th centuries by the Agoult family, Lourmarin Castle is the first Renaissance castle in Provence.

Classified as a historic monument since the 1970s, the castle presents collections of engravings, but also art objects and musical instruments.

Gordes

Nestled in the heart of the Monts du Vaucluse and the Luberon Natural Park, Gordes is a typically Provençal town. The calades, inherited from the Romans, give it a picturesque charm. Stroll around the city and be inspired by its history.

Among the historic cultural places of Gordes, you will obviously find its feudal castle which overlooks the village, or the cellars of the Saint-Firmin palace, classified as a historic monument, the visit through archaeological remains of the Middle Ages, transcribes the history for you of Gordes.

Finally, let yourself be attracted by the village of Bories and the Notre-Dame de Sénanque abbey just a few kilometers away.

Roussillon

A must if you go to Roussillon, enjoy the famous ocher trail and its majestic colors. Be inspired by its history and educate yourself using the signs along the entire path.
